You know, I was realizing that my last post may have given the impression that it's all friends and family and the beach, the goodness of gardening and harvesting, sunsets and sunrises and sunny days around here.
It isn't. Those of you who know us best know that we're having a rough time this summer. The tricky thing about blogging (for me, anyway) is that it is both a way to share my thoughts and our lives with you, letting you into our everydays, and a way to meditate on the life we're living, choosing which parts I want to remember most clearly. I hope I'm able to strike a balance that recognizes our many blessings and is also authentic.

Hey Mel, I appreciate your honesty. It can be hard to share your life PUBLICLY in a way that is authentic and still respects the privacy and dignity of the people and events in your life. As a new blogger, I can already see this tension emerging in my own sharing process. Blessings to you as you wrestle with finding a way to share a balance that gives weight to both the sorrow and joy that you experience. I love hearing about all if it, whatever you decide to post.
Thanks for the encouragement, Mandi. You put it just right... sharing "PUBLICLY in a way that is authentic and still respects the privacy and dignity of the people and events in your life."
Thanks to God for good friends who don't mind if it all hangs out over coffee!
