I really was climbing back on the blogging wagon... until Norton AntiVirus thwarted my efforts. The software was glitchy right from the start, but I first contacted them three months ago about the issue. Since the problem escalated this week to a level that we didn't have any internet protection, I was determined to break through the impenetrable fortress of tech support to get the thing fixed.
I spent a total of twenty seven hours stuck in the tech support loop, during which one of their agents managed to corrupt the registry on the computer (which meant it was taking fifteen minutes to start up and moving slightly slower than a receding glacier). Eventually, I gave up. It is clearly impossible to get support for a malfunctioning Norton product. Unless perhaps I'd like to pay $69.95 to speak to a North American representative. To fix a problem they created. Hmmmm.
