Catching Up

Time passes so quickly sometimes, and sometimes it drags. And sometimes it's both at once, isn't it? I've been negligent on the blogging front, so I'm just going to share a bunch of stuff all at once here that I keep meaning to post...

۞

First order of business: Mimsy has arrived!

(Yes, her name is Mimsy even though the poll favours Suki. Four out of four Mealeys can't be wrong!)

She was a little apprehensive and lonely her first day or two here, but she is affectionate and adorable and coming around fast. We are so happy to have her join our family. (Plus, she just ate a spider, which will make her a hero to my children.)

Hopefully she really does have nine lives, because I suspect she's going to need them. She's a curious little furball, as you can see. Last night she managed to drop down through the hole for the plumbing under our claw-foot tub and explore the space between the floors. Oi vey. Crazy cat.

Conversation between Mitch and Maren overheard today...

"I can't close the door, Papa."
"Why not?"
"My hands are full."
"They are? What are they full of?"
"They're full of God's love!"

This is an amazing cover by Phil Wickham of Leonard Cohen's song Hallelujah.

(Loosely related: I've discovered that basically all you have to do to sell me on a song is throw in a little banjo. Try it. Listen to the song Divine Romance on Phil Wickham's myspace page and tell me you don't love it.)

And this is an amazing and beautiful video from a church called Kinetic in North Carolina. Someone stole the trailer that houses nearly everything they own. This is the video they made for the person who did it. Grace, grace, God's grace...
