Up for Grabs

I like to read. So does Mitch. So do Maren and Malcolm. We pick up books for a dollar or two at Frenchy's the way other people buy gum or chocolate bars or coffee.

All that to say, we have a LOT of books at our house, which you might have noticed if you've ever been over. I've been working to pare things down more regularly around here, rather than an all-out clean-out once in a while, so I'm starting a new feature here at those marvelous mealeys: Up For Grabs. (It's right under my goodreads shelf.)

On the sidebar, I'll post any books that I am finished with and ready to pass on. If you want it, just speak up: fire off an email or leave a comment. I'll leave the books posted until they're claimed by one of you or find a home at the Salvation Army. Don't be shy!

Hey.
Quick question for ya. Are the books that your done with just the ones under "Up for Grab's" or the ones under "Mel's Bookshelf"?. You have some great books under "Mel's Bookshelf" that I would just love, so I just thought I would check. Like right now "Lovely Bones" is showing under "Up for Grab's" so is that the only one that is available right now?
Sorry, I hope that I didn't confuse you too much.
Thanks Mel...

It's just whatever is under the "Up for Grabs" heading, so right now it's just "Lovely Bones." But you could certainly borrow any of the ones in my bookshelf that I own! (I borrow a lot from the library, but some are mine.)

I just might take you up on that offer sometime. WE are heading on vacation this Friday for a week, but whe we return I may just drop buy sometime to borrow one or two.

Thanks for the offer and info :)

By the way, sorry for all the grammar errors in my comments...as I read over them now I should really read them over before I post them. Busy day with Jacob today, little tired...good sign that I should hit the hay.

Yep, stop by anytime to raid the Mealey library. Lots of good stuff in there, I think!

Hey Mel,
I am not sure when I am going to get over to see your books. I looked through your list of the ones you have. And one caught my eye that I heard about on the radio. The one where a man lives like the Bible for a year. I thought maybe you could give it to Deb, which could let get it to Tannis. Dave is really busy with work right now, we are actually going to Halifax this week while he does some training. So things are pretty busy right now. Let me know if this would work, if not i'll find some way to get it. That is..if you are done with it and wouldn't mind lending it out!
Thanks for sharing all these books..I could be reading for awhile now!

Sounds like life is really busy for you right now, Kyla!

The Year of Living Biblically was a great read, but one I borrowed from the library, unfortunately. The flip side of that is, though, that you TOO can borrow it from the library!

Let me know if there are any others you're interested in.

Hey,
I actually went to Chapters and bought it yesterday before we came to Halifax. I kind of really wanted it for my collection, Dave was really interested too, so it worked out. I treated myself :)

Thanks for getting back to me with the info! I'll let you know about any of books that catch my eye!
