Thanks, a Thought, and a Teaser

Thanks to those of you who have taken time to mull over my dilemma from the last post. There's a thought forming somewhere in the back of my brain that maybe parenting, like faith and the rest of life, was meant to be lived out in community, drawing on the support and wisdom of one another. Hmmmm....

I'd still like to hear from any of the rest of you who have thoughts on the matter (and you don't have to be a parent or teacher to share your reflections).

Maren is so terribly busy that she hasn't sat down with me yet to share her experience at the chess tournament on the weekend, but here's a little something to whet your appetite. In these pictures, Maren and her cousin are both playing the defending champion (who Mitch tells me "schooled" an eighth grader in a friendly game!).
