The Chess Tournament

by Maren Mealey

I'm going to talk about the district chess tournament.

I got a bronze medal and my cousin Aidan got a silver. There was this guy that got a medal in first place in the group I was in and he did last year also.

I got a bye. The bye counted as a point and I got a tie-breaker. I played five games.

Bye-bye. I love chess.

Wow...look at those "marvelous Mealeys!" Way to go, you guys! It's fun to see a photo of Aidan on here. Did Aidan and Maren play one another at the tournament?

Wow Maren! Your smile looks so big with your medal around your neck, I can tell you must be proud! You worked really hard to get that; 5 games in one day. Thanks for sharing the update with us!

Aidan and Maren didn't play each other, although they did sit elbow to elbow at one point! I don't know what that showdown would have been like.

I love the picture of you and Aiden. You must of been very happy that aiden played in the tournament Maren. It must of been a very long day with all of those games to think about.
Congratulations, I love your shiny medal, and Aidens as well.
