Lava and Bones

Maren has been asking to see another show at the theatre for a while, and this year there just happened to be one on her birthday called Lava and Bones. It is "a 50-minute show for young audiences which brings to life the geological prehistory of our land from 180 million years ago the when the west coast was flat and under water, to our present mountainous geography."

The 14-foot Tyrannosaurus Rex puppet was definitely the highlight of the show. I was glad we had chosen balcony seats... although Malcolm thought the T-Rex might be able to jump up there anyway and get us. Maren grabbed Mitch's hand to cover her eyes for most of the time the T-Rex was onstage, which was very cute.

Malcolm kind of gave away the surprise, though.

Malcolm: "Maren, Mama and Papa are going to give you tickets for a show."

Me: "Shhhhh!"

Malcolm, enunciating clearly: "Shhhhhow."
