The Circle of Life

What a busy week! We had a great time with Jody and Rory around. Aren't they cute? The time flew by way too fast, even though we did manage to squeeze in a couple trips to the market and several trips to the ice cream shop. Yum yum!

Maren's birthday was a good time, too, but it is hard to believe that she is six now. The "kid" party will be this weekend, so I'm resting up. I don't remember birthday parties being so tiring when I was a kid. (^_^)

Her cousin Aidan gave her a bug collection kit before he left. We managed to catch a centipede on her birthday (well, I did the actual catching), although it took us a while to accurately identify it. Maren was thrilled beyond belief to have a pet centipede for a day... less thrilled when she had to dispose of its dead body in the morning. I'm not so sure killing a bug is a good way to teach the circle of life.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY MAREN!!!!! Six years old! Wow! I wonder what new things you'll do and learn this year! I'm sure it'll include fun with your bug collection kit! I hope your birthday party on the weekend is FUN!

Mel, the title of your post makes me want to sing "It's the circle of life, and it moves us all. Through despair and hope, through faith and love" - but maybe it's because I just saw the Lion King on broadway!!! Thanks for bringing that to mind :)
