Jolliness Barometer

Now that Halloween is drawing near, my favourite thrift stores are selling fun costume-wear. I was ridiculously excited to find a couple of goofy wigs at the Sally-Ann on Friday. Malcolm's enthusiasm outstripped my own, however -- he wanted to wear one of the wigs for our Saturday morning outing downtown to the market, library, Frenchy's, etc. Why not?

He became sort of a barometer for the jolliness of folks on the street. Some people looked at him and were like, "Kid in a wig. How about that." Other people barely suppressed uproarious laughter and were generous with compliments. By mid-morning, we had found a police officer hat at Frenchy's, which Malcolm (naturally) added to the ensemble. Fetching, wouldn't you agree?

Hilarious. My jollieness barometer is through the roof. In the one with the shades, he looks like a celebrity going incognito.
