Our family recently made the very difficult decision to find a new church home. It has been a heartbreaking process ... we love thePool so much and right now it's hard to imagine a church that could come closer to what biblical community should be.
Friday night, thePool had a little "going away" party for us. An opportunity was given for people to speak ... share a memory or say something to us. What an incredibly humbling experience it is to be given the rare gift of knowing how your own life has impacted someone else. I have so much respect for the courage, faith, and honesty with which each person there has lived, and feel so blessed to have shared the journey with them for a time.
Now for the next stage of the process ... finding a new faith community. Maybe FOX would pick it up as a reality show. I'm sure we'd be able to get an accurate sense of a church despite the camera crew, don't you think?
