The Trials of Motherhood

Mitch has been craving a milkshake, and I obliged yesterday. I whipped together enough for the two of us, and a taste for the kids. They seemed to love it, with loud declarations of gustatory delight. "This is so delicious I can't even believe my mouth!"

A few minutes later, though, Maren announced, "Mama, it's too yummy. I can't eat it, it's so yummy." Funny, not a problem I've ever encountered.

"Shall I finish it for you, then?"

"Yes, I think you really should. It's just too yummy."

Sigh. If I must.

Yeah, I'm with you on that one. I really can't think of anything I've ever NOT been able to eat because it was too yummy.

Absolutely baffling! I've been thwarted by massive quantities of rich and delicious foods (mmmmm... cheesecake), but this was only a quarter of a cup.

Might not be a bad problem to run into, though. Then I'd stop eating cookies BEFORE feeling sick!

Now, if it was octopus....

I can't eat a lot of cheesecake and it's because it's too rich not because it's too yummy. The only problem I've had is that I want to save yummy things but can't.
