Mealey Recovers the Ball

Good news, sports fans. Malcolm's football has been found! It went missing nearly a month ago, and none of us had any memory at all of where it was last seen. (Favourite thing missing + no leads = fear and trembling on parents' behalf)

Yesterday the girl who lives upstairs brought the missing football to Malcolm. Apparently it has been in their truck for the past month, courtesy of her younger brother. So Malcolm and his football cuddled up together last night, spending some time getting reacquainted.

I'm sorry to say that I'm struggling to be gracious and just be glad it's back; I'm feeling kind of scowly about the whole thing, knowing how upsetting it has been to Malcolm to be missing his favourite thing in the world. Funny how small things can expose large character failings.

H e l l o,

It is kind of neat that your blog [Malcolm and his football] parallels my Object Relations Theory reading yesterday, regarding children and their 'Tranisitonal Objects' ... blah, blah, blah ... whatever, those 'psyc people' are wacked ... hey, tell Malcolm that I would also be upset if I lost my football and could not snuggle with it at night.
