Avast, Ye Scurvy Landlubbers!

I think Maren makes quite a convincing pirate (aside from the fact that she's a four year old girl), don't you?

Her preschool class is such an interesting, funny group of kids. They are constantly planning parties at school -- sometimes for birthdays and holidays, sometimes just for fun. Yesterday's pirate party falls into the latter category. Apparently a submarine party is forthcoming!

I think it's interesting that pirates are considered acceptable play, in light of what they actually did (and still do in the Pacific!). I guess crime, greed, and just plain ol' mean-spiritedness are alright as long as you've got a great costume. Someone should inform the Department of Homeland Defense.
