Two Stories, One World

So, tonight was the night of our city's Christmas Parade. The night our family bundles up, laughs, points, freezes, hopes that next year there will be snow to show for the chills, and of course, wishes we could be the one throwing the band leader's baton up high.

After the festivities, I (Mitch) was tucking Maren into bed when, as common, Maren makes an observation.

"Papa, none of the floats told the true story of Christmas - about Jesus and you know..."

"That's true, but there were many Nativity scenes which do tell about Jesus."

Maren ponders for a 0.5 seconds, "There are two stories of Christmas, aren't there? I like both of them. Santa, for the presents in the sock. Jesus, because I love God..."

With a giggle Maren says, "It is like I'm bilingual! I can talk two languages."

Bilingual:)! Very cute story! And great observation by Maren. It would be nice to see more of the real meaning of Christmas this time of year.

Wow, two Mitch blogs in a row. Very cool indeed!

I was thinking that, with the hat on the "H" the title for Blog # 2 would describe a Josiah Christmas:
"Nappy Holidays!"
