When we arrived in Toronto, we we did some shopping in Chinatown. When it was time that we could go to the residence, we did. We only stayed for a little while, because we were going to the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Yahoo! That's spectacular! And guess what? At the Hockey Hall of Fame, I got a real picture of me and the Stanley Cup.
Isn't that cool? I think so.
After the Hockey Hall of Fame, we went back on the subway to get supper. (Yeah,! The subway! Wahoo!) After the supper, we went back to the residence and we got ready to go to bed. After I went to bed, I slept.
In the morning, we went to have some breakfast and it was super good breakfast... ummmm, let me remember here. They had fruit salad and cereal and waffles and juice, so it was a really good breakfast. Then we went back to the residence and did some stuff there for a little while. Then we went to the Royal Ontario Museum.

After we were done in the museum, we went to the CN Tower.
It was great. I went up to the glass floor and the Sky Pod. You know, I would like to go up there again. Would you like to go up there? I would want to if I were you.
When we were done going to the CN Tower, it was supper. I didn't eat so much, though. Then we went back to the residence. I got ready to go to bed again and when I was done doing that, I went to bed.
The next day, we played chess. I won a game against Prince Edward Island! After we played chess, it was lunchtime. After lunch, we played chess again.

It was fun playing all those games.
After that, we put our luggage in Mike's room. Mike was a person who had a son in the nationals, and everyone was putting luggage in Mike's room because we had to leave our room. Then we went to a playground and then we bought some fruit in Chinatown. We went back to the residence to get our luggage, but we already gave in our key, so we asked for an elevator key. When we came back down, the bus to take us to the airport was waiting.
When we got to the airport, we had to wait three hours for our plane. We watched some planes take off and we ate the strawberries that we bought from Chinatown.

It was great! I saw real live dinosaur bones. I can't believe they had real live dinsoaur bones there! I saw a skeleton of a Tyrranosaurus Rex (or T-Rex).

After we played chess again, it was time for supper. We ended up losing the group that we were walking with, so we had to walk a long time to find a McDonalds. I had a Happy Meal when we finally found it. Then we came back to the residence and got ready for bed.
In the morning, we played chess again. I didn't win any more games. Then it was the closing ceremony and they gave out the awards. The twelfth grader in our group got in second place! (There were trophies, by the way, not medals.) The person in third grade got in fourth place and we were the top Atlantic province, so our province got a plaque.

When we came back, it was eleven something in the night. Malcolm was waiting there with Papa, and Grammie and Grampie. We went back home, got ready to go to bed, and I went to sleep.
The end.
The end.

So nice to hear about your story, Maren. Yes, I want to go up the CN Tower! I have been under it a few times, but I have never gone up the elevator. I will next time I'm there, though. I'm glad that you didn't get too lost. Oh, and it's cool that New Brunswick was the top Atlantic province. I think that you represented Grade 2 very nicely. Thanks again for your story.
Wow, Maren, I LOVE your writing! I think you are a super author! Thanks for the great story of your trip -it made me smile!!

Welcome home Maren! Sounds like you had fun doing alot of different things, When you told your story about your adventures in Toronto, I felt as though I were there, you write very well. So very happy to hear that you had fun and I am soooo proud of you. The pictures are great too. Take care Sweetie, I will see you next month.
Wow, Maren, that was a super fun read. Thank you for sharing your experience with us! It sounds like you got to do a lot of different things in Toronto. It's cool that you got to see some of the city in addition to your chess match. Congratulations on playing Nationals! What an experience!
My favourite line of Maren's beautiful account was so simple and yet so profound: "After I went to bed, I slept." It is so beautiful how a child can , and should, lead us into a world of truly living in the moment!
Je t'aime beaucoup, Maren.
I hear that you guys had a really good time with Connie, too, Maren. I actually have a present here from Connie that she found for you after you guys left. Has she convinced you to move to Toronto yet?
