Just Do It!

It's very convenient that the U.S. election is coming up and they have Hollywood and that cute blonde kid that used to be on Growing Pains has gotten together a bunch of Hollywood-types to pull the reverse psychology trick to get people to vote while we are also having an election up here (you know about this, right?), because then if you weren't necessarily fired up about our election yet, you could watch this video and get all inspired to show up on election day.



You don't even have to register ahead of time here, so ignore the dire warnings about that. (Although advance polls are this weekend, so if you think you won't be able to make it on the 14th, you should check that out. So maybe you should go back to freaking out about October 4th.) You can just show up with your driver's license (I have one of those!) or two proofs of address--your phone bill and credit card statement would do the trick--and you're all set. One year I used my income tax assessment.

You can find links to the websites for all registered political parties here, so that you get an idea of what they stand for. Count yourself lucky if you've got a Work Less candidate (Workers of the world RELAX!). Although I'm not sure how much you can count on that dude to actually do for you....

On this Elections Canada page, you can find out what riding you're in, where and when to vote, and who your candidates are. They make it so darn easy, don't they? Check it out and make an informed decision on October 14th. Okey-doke?
