A letter arrived this week from one of her great-grandmothers (whom she has never met) with a cheque that put her over the top. Wowzers! She says she feels "happy and proud."
I think it's especially cool that she has been able to learn not only the value of sticking with a project and working hard to reach her goal, but also that God can help us in unexpected ways when we're doing his work.
Maren's next project to help "the poor" involves digging for dinosaur bones in the school playground with her friends. If they find a dinosaur skeleton, they'll set it up and charge admission to see it. She may learn a different kind of lesson from that venture.
Thanks to all of you who gave her encouragement and supported her by stopping by for some lemonade!

Wow! Congratulations, Maren!
I got home kind of late this evening so I didn't think it would be a good idea to call. I'll give you a jingle first thing in the morning (maybe second thing, cuz I forsee a teensy bit of sleeping in).
YAY Maren! I'm so glad that you were able to work really hard and reach your goal! What a blessing your help will be to those in need.
