The News in Brief

Howdy! Here we are, settled in amongst our stacks of boxes in the new house. Lots has been happening lately, but I am really out of the habit of blogging. Here's the rundown on the last few weeks, in no particular order...

► We gave Mitch the full treatment on Father's Day: breakfast in bed (with bacon, even!), a daytrip to Fundy (which was as lovely as ever) + clams and ice cream, and a movie of his choosing (featuring Denzel, natch... I think my husband might have an itty-bitty crush on him).
► My sister, Amy, graduated from high school, hoorah! She scored a few bursaries and wore an incredible gown to her prom. I got to ride the bus.
► My other sister, Jody, and my nephew are back in the Maritimes, hoorah!
► Chris and Jenn are back in the Maritimes, hoorah!
► I can't leave out my rockstar-drummer brother, Aaron, whose calendar is filling up lately with gigs. (Stay tuned for a link to his band's myspace.)
► Maren and Malcolm are loving the new house, especially the bunk beds... although there is a yet-to-be-resolved issue with Malcolm interfering with Maren's sleep. At least, I think climbing up the ladder and poking her with a stick while repeating her name qualifies as interfering.

If we've spoken within the past month, you've already heard this, but I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW MUCH STUFF WE'VE BEEN STORING! Yikes! It feels like we've sent almost as much to the Salvation Army as we've brought with us. And this is after a regular regime of decluttering throughout the last year. I'm currently reading It's Hard to Make a Difference When You Can't Find Your Keys by Marilyn Paul and looking forward to making some changes in our relationship to stuff. It is urgently required!

I'm sure there's plenty more, but I've got to go make space for a washer and dryer. Wouldn't it be lovely if there was somewhere to hook them up when they arrive? (^_^)

YAY you're back.....how exciting is it that you'll have your very own washer and dryer now. Oh I'm so happy for you guys! It was great chatting briefly the other night. Mitch was talking about a Risk night and I said BRING IT ON :)

Welcome back...:) I dropped Mitch a line the other day and asked if he needed anything to let me know...washer/dryer hook up sounds like one of those things. It shouldn't be a problem to help out there! :) drop me a line...I've missed your blog...:D
