The Miniature Earth

It's funny that in the age of technology and the "global village," it's so easy for us to be unaware of our fellow villagers. The Miniature Earth uses the "idea of reducing the world's population to a community of only 100 people" to deliver a State of the Village address. Take a few minutes to watch this short video... and then I encourage you to take one more minute to consider your response.

I've seen something similar before... very thought provoking. Certainly gives you perspective on the blessings we have that we take for granted.

Hey Mel, thanks for sharing! There's a great children's book that we sell at Ten Thousand Villages that focuses on this as well (it's called "if the world were a village") It's quite interesting. THanks for the reminder that I've got so much to be thankful for!

That sounds like a really great book... I would like to check that out. I'm interested in seeing how it's presented to kids. We're heading to Fundy on the weekend, so maybe we'll stop off there!

Cool.... FYI the store is only opened until 5 on Friday (I'm there that day) and then from 10-4 on Saturday. I'll make sure that there's one in the store when I get there tomorrow and send you an email so that you don't waste a trip. Have fun in Fundy, how exciting for you guys!
