For Real This Time

You thought I was teasing, didn't you? Our computer (well, more accurately, our antivirus software) has been misbehaving, so there hasn't been a whole lot of internet-ing going on at our house. There has, however, been quite a bit of unpacking... hmmm, curious.

Biggest news in our house since last week: Maren has her first loose tooth. She's pretty excited about the prospect of being toothless like her kindergarten friends. (And as soon as I can find the USB cord for the camera, you'll get to see her wiggling that tooth!)

I remember going to bed with one of my teeth literally hanging by a thread, but I was adamant that it not be pulled out. When I woke up in the morning, I discovered that I had pocketed the tooth away in my cheek. I'm amazed that I didn't end up swallowing it!

I'm sure Maren would love to hear your stories of losing baby teeth, too, as well as your theories about what the tooth fairy does with all those teeth (a hotly debated subject at the dinner table).

Kaitlyn did swallow her first loose tooth, but decided a letter to the Toothfairy would work just fine. And it did! She and Logan decided together that the Toothfairy is a recycler, and babies get the old teeth.

i lost my four front teeth at the same time, two from the bottom and two from the top. i had a hard time eating ice cream for awhile. my granny told me that the tooth fairy takes the teeth and grinds them down for babies.

Although I have no theries as to what exactly the tooth fairy does with all those teeth, I do have a story from when I was a little girl. I had lost a tooth and put it under my pillow at night for the tooth fairy to come and take. The tooth fairy normally left me a dollar or two for a tooth. Well I just happened to have a water bed and the money that the tooth fairy left slipped down in between the water bladder and the bed frame, so in the morning when I woke up, I couldn't find any money from the tooth fairy! I was so upset! To make me feel better, my parents gave me a dollar on behalf of the tooth fairy. Imagine my excitement when a few hours later as I was making my bed, I also found the money that had slipped from underneath my pillow! I had cashed in... double the money!
