Oh how wonderful! Oh how marvelous!Went with a friend to see Sarah Harmer last night, who was as amazing as ever. The set list drew heavily from her latest album, the bluegrass-y I'm a Mountain, so it was a real hootenanny! A whole lot of banjo, equal parts yodelling and Dolly Parton, a few old favourites (like the haunting Capsized and soul-stirring Lodestar), a little honky-tonk piano, and Sarah's lovely, lilting voice through it all.
Hooray for live entertainment and musical Canadian women! I'll take a night at a gig over Big/Amazing/Fear/Idol/Survivor "reality" any time.
