Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'

Beautiful weather! The weekend was a washout (literally), but yesterday was a perfect day for new summer toys... a bike with training wheels for Maren and a skateboard for Malcolm.

Maren got the hang of the bike very quickly, once she figured out how to get herself started. Malcolm, however... was thrilled with the skateboard and attendant safety equipment, but had a major meltdown because the skateboard got wet. So the first half hour was spent sitting on the pavement. By then it had dried again and he was able to enjoy himself.

They begged to bring their "vehicles" for our Superstore trip in the late afternoon, and I relented. (What did I have to lose? An hour wasn't that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things yesterday.) Supper may have been late, but a good time was had by all!
