Looking Back

Mitch's grandfather, Glen MacLean, passed away Sunday morning at the ripe old age of 96. His funeral was in Hartland, New Brunswick (home of the world's longest covered bridge!), and was an amazing testament to his life of quiet faith and prayer. I only met him a handful of times, but always wished I could have known him longer. He had an instant kind of charm and gentleness about him. During the funeral service, there was time for people to stand up and share their memories of Grampie -- it was so cool to hear different stories that put together a picture of who he was and what kind of impact he made on the people who knew him. What a celebration!

We clocked nearly eight hours of travel in the last couple of days. A combination of good books, good food, and good tunes stood between us and chaos. Here's what entertained us and the mini-Mealeys for the trip:

Um, well... we had downloaded all the songs to check it out, and the verdict is that it is definitely worth buying. We just have a burned copy of the album for now. ($14.99 at Chapters, maybe cheaper elsewhere) The kids love the album, and we like it, too -- it isn't mind-numbing preschool drivel! The best song is "The Sharing Song." A. will love it.
