King Me!

Maren has been enjoying playing checkers lately. Her favourite part of the game is getting kinged, as illustrated at left. She's not too bad, actually. She understands the mechanics of how to move the pieces and can look a move ahead. The finer points of strategy haven't quite developed, but I think we've got some time. She plays the computer usually, but she'd be thrilled to have an online match with any of you. I can hook you up, if you're interested.

Malcolm also enjoys playing checkers, although he definitely needs the benefit of a computer disallowing illegal moves. He likes kings, too, but usually tries to get them by moving six spaces at once. He finds taking a piece and having his piece taken equally hilarious, so it's always entertaining for him. Maren is much more concerned with the final outcome ("I winned!" "I losed.")
